At Ardtully we have been going the extra mile to ensure the safety of our residents during a fire awareness week.

We spent the week discussing safety with staff and residents and incorporated fire safety into our activity schedule.

Staff offered tips and advice on how to maintain safety within our home. The topics that were covered during the week included prevention, hazards, and procedures.

According to the Home Office, on average there are fires in 388 UK care homes every year.

Unlike a regular home or the vast majority of all other businesses, care homes are active 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This makes fire safety more difficult but even more important.

The safety of your care home is a team effort, and one that with a bit of preparation and organisation, isn’t that hard to get under control.

Louise Hickman, home manager at Ardtully said:

“The safety of our residents and staff is of the utmost importance to us as we strive to go the extra mile whenever we can to ensure that our residents feel safe and secure in their home.”

Each day at Ardtully looks different. To stay updated on the happenings at Ardtully, keep an eye out for more blogs and news to come.
