Best Care Home in Essex

Friendly environment

We believe great care starts with creating a place that feels like home. From comfortable, well-equipped personal rooms to a friendly atmosphere where residents can enjoy their day, we focus on the little things that make a big difference. With engaging activities, compassionate support, and a strong sense of community, our facilities make everyday life fulfilling and enjoyable. Here’s why we’re considered the best care home in Essex:

Rooms

At Ardtully, we want every resident to feel at home from day one. Our single rooms (including companion rooms) offer comfort, privacy and the freedom to make the space your own. Many rooms come with en-suite facilities and every room includes TV and telephone ports. We encourage residents to bring their own furniture, personal belongings and even choose their room’s paint colour – because feeling at home in a new environment starts with being surrounded by the things you love.

Facilities

Ideally situated in the charming village of Ingatestone, our beautiful building retains its period character while offering all the conveniences of a well-equipped, modern care home. Residents can enjoy peaceful gardens, spacious lounges, a cosy library and even a hair salon. With wheelchair access, internet connectivity and a pet-friendly policy, we make sure life at Ardtully feels comfortable and fulfilling. Whether it’s a trip to the local shops in our minibus or simply relaxing in familiar surroundings with personal furniture and belongings, we’re the best care home in Essex that offers everything your loved one needs to thrive.

Activities

Our Ingatestone care home has a Lifestyle and Well-Being team manager who works to provide various activities for people of all mental and physical abilities, creating as many Magic Moments as we can. We never separate patients with dementia from the rest of the home and ensure they are always included. We offer daily outings, getting residents out and about in Ingatestone and Brentwood, where they can shop, eat, watch films and swim. We also have a religious coordinator for those who practise faith, organising transport for weekly church visits.

Staff

Our team of highly-trained staff provides compassionate, individualised care. With expertise in dementia and palliative care, our carers receive continuous training from the NHS and online courses to fulfil the individual needs of all our residents. We have strong connections to local GPs and nurses but can easily collaborate with a resident’s preferred healthcare team if needed. We hold meetings with our GP every 3 months to discuss each resident in detail and amend care plans accordingly, ensuring the right treatment is given if necessary.

Visitation

It’s important for our residents to stay connected with loved ones. Thanks to our open visitation policy, family and friends are welcome anytime, whether enjoying a chat in the privacy of a resident’s room or sharing tea and coffee in our communal spaces. We keep families informed every step of the way, with regular updates and face-to-face meetings to ensure care plans are always tailored to individual needs. As one of the best care homes in Essex, we pride ourselves on cultivating a close-knit, supportive community where families are a large part of daily life.
